It was all to play for, with both teams having won each of their NC3 league
games.
Camborne proved strong off the whistle and managed to score a great try
within a couple of minutes taking it to 7-0 with a great conversion. This
was quickly followed by try number 2 and conversion number 2.
Pheonixes settled and proved that defence is getting better and held them
off for a while, before Camborne got their chance to score try number 3,
taking the scoreline to 19-0.
Undeterred, the Phoenixes worked hard and it paid off with forward Caitlyn
Dinnis-Davis scoring her first try. This took the score to 19-5. Quickly
seizing an open opportunity, Camborne came back with a try making it
24-5.
Not content with this score, Camborne scored another try, with conversion
making the final score 31-5 to Camborne.
Sadly it was not the win Phoenixes wanted, but there were positives from
the game.
Forward of the match went to Caitlyn Dinnis-Davis for her first ever try
and for pushing hard and getting the work in!!
Back of the Match went to Jo O’Reilly, for being everywhere and following
the play like a machine. She was covering all bases, putting in some
amazing tackle.
Player of the Match goes to Ayesha Slader for being there in amongst the
play. Some amazing try saving tackles that did not go unnoticed.
