Will Morton got the Ashes off to a great start after just two minutes with a right wing try quickly followed on the left wing with a Jay Moriarty touch down which was converted by Kieran Down. Liskeard replied after 18 minutes with a penalty by Andrew Gregg. Immediately Finn Jones came back with an opportunist Ashes try which was converted by Kieran Down (19-3). Saltash were cutting through the visitor's defence with good line running and interchange of passing with regular tries being scored by Danny Snook(2), Will Morton(2) and Ryan Cruickshanks to take the interval score to 48-3.
The second half continued with the Ashes producing good adventurous rugby with Jay Moriarty and Will Morton going over for early tries. Kristian Davis got a good try after 57 minutes before Kieran Down added his name to the scoresheet (72-8). Liskeard got a deserved try after 76 minutes after they had fought hard against a continuous tide of Ashes attacks. Just before the final whistle Will Morton crossed for his fifth try of the game and Fin Jones completed the rout. Kieran Down kicked a total of seven conversions. This was a very entertaining team performance by Saltash that continue to improve each week and are blending into a very promising side for the future.
