What was a largely experimental side for Saltash given a high number of unavailable players, with the Ashes pulling a few old heads out of retirement and bringing in some of their senior Colts players.
The Ashes started well and were on the board with a try from Wing Tom Knight, with Bude adding a penalty goal. From then on, it was one way traffic with the visitors adding a further 4 tries in the first half from prop Simon Nance from 10m out, Flanker Bobby Rixson (his first in a senior shirt), Fly Half Nick Blake and winger Ethan Stone, with one conversion from centre Ollie Crawford for a half time score at 27-3 for Saltash.
The second half started much the same, with a solitary Bude try as opposed to a further 5 tries from Stone for his second, no 8 Devon Bennett-Murray (capped a powerful performance for his try), Crawford and subs Dale Johnson and Ryan Thomas and 4 conversions from the Ashes through 2 apiece from Crawford and full back Henry Taylor.
