After the break, the Ashes rallied, and scored a well worked try from centre Kristian Davis to narrow the gap to 22-5. The gap closed further shortly afterwards, as flanker Jack Mills was on the end of a well worked kick to the corner to dot the ball down for 22-10.
The Hornets hit back with2 tries, the second a powerful catch and drive from a lineout to score a converted try for 36-10.
Saltash took the last points of the match with a try out wide as centre Freddie Davies drifted through the defensive line to score a try, converted by Davis for a final score of 36-17 for Newquay.
